2013 Nudgee Masters Classic Results

Congratulations to Gary Heslop and Josie Ryan for winning the men's and ladies Classic.

63 competitors teed off over the 2 day event in perfect conditions.  Huge thank you to David Brushfield and his team from the green keeping shed for preparing the golf course in tip top shape.  Also thanks to the Pro Shop staff for starting the field and the bar and catering staff for their services.  Well done to all the winners.

Nudgee Master Classic update - Day 2

Day 2 of the Nudgee Masters Classic is underway today. The leaders after Round 1 are:

Men Leaders - Mario La Chiusa & Gary Heslop - 1 under par (70)
Ladies Leader - Karen Collings - 80

It is another perfect day for golf. Good luck to all participating today.

Solar installation update.

The rails are now secured to the roof and today, the solar panels are now being installed. There will be 130 panels fitted to provide the 33.8kw.

Thank you to Tea Tree Gully members for making the trip upto Nudgee and it's great to have such a good relationship between our two clubs and may the tradition continue.  Well done to Grahame & Kerrie MacDonald for the arrangements of the event and playing host to our interstate visitors.

Beautiful day for an Interstate Series Final

Today, Nudgee Golf Club members will contest day two of the Interstate Senior Series Match for the Grahame MacDonald Challenge Cup (below).  Members from Tea Tree Gully Golf Club in South Australia have made the trip up and will stay on for the Nudgee Masters Classic (Thursday and Friday) and Australian Senior Championships next week at Royal Qld.

Current results for the Ryder Cup style event are, Nudgee leads Tea Tree Gully 5 games to 3 after day one. Singles matches on today.

Passing of a Nudgee Golf Club Member - Rob Anlezark

With sadness, one of our Nudgee Golf Club members has passed away. Rob Anlezark passed away on Saturday and his funeral is this Wed 2pm at the Anglican Church of Australia, 93 Sutton St Woody Point.

Our 36 hole tournament is only a week and a half away and entries will close next Tuesday 27th August. Players must be aged a minimum of 50 years and be a men or lady member of a golf club with a GA handicap.

New gaming machines installed today

We have new gaming machines being installed at the club today. Included in the installation is an in house link, Sky Heroes between 4 machines.

Black Tee Challenge today

A large number of golfers, 160 plus, enjoyed the first Black Tee Challenge on the South Course of the Nudgee Golf Club today. Comments received regarding the course set up have been excellent with many requesting that the next Black Tee be on the South Course again next month so that they can have another go. Thanks to our event sponsors - City Golf Club, Giesen Wines, John Downs Pro Shop & Carlton. The tee sheet is now open for the next Black Tee Challenge, scheduled for Friday, 20 September 2013 on the South Course. To book a tee time, please call the office on 32677744. Best nett will win 1 night accomodation at the City Golf Club motel in Toowoomba and 2 rounds of golf at the City Golf Club.

QLD v NSW Indigenous Golf Match

Congratulations to NSW, the event was a 2 ball Ambrose competition with the average GROSS score determining the winning State.  NSW average was 76.7, QLD average was 77. A short youtube clip below is a reflection on the day and a huge thank you to Drew Llewellyn for putting it together.  Drew is available for Corporate golf events, contact Nudgee Golf Club for his details.

Bamboo! What bamboo?

You will be pleased to know that the patch of bamboo situated on the left hand side of the 1st green South course was removed today. This will now allow the 1st green and the 18th tee the chance to improve due to excessive shade and moisture absorption from the bamboo. It will also allow the full use of the 18th tee as in the past, the area of usage has been minimised due to the overgrown bamboo.

Big win for the Nudgee GC Division 1 Pennants Team!

Well, the Nudgee Golf Club Division 1 Pennants team did not disappoint today. They managed to have a great win over our neighbours, the Royal Queensland Golf Club - (13.5 - 7.5). Excellent result guys and congratulations on behalf of the Nudgee Golf Club. Aaron

Nudgee Golf Club DEFEATS Pacific Golf Club at Pacific

Round 1 Brisbane District Golf Association for Division One Pennants teed off this morning with Nudgee playing Pacific at Pacific.

We are pleased to announce the overall points score was 11 to 10 in favour of Nudgee Golf Club. Congratulations players, great start!
