For the second year, the Nudgee Golf Club are the Brisbane
District Golf Association Division 1 Pennants Champions.
In September this year, the club completed an extraordinary
feat when it clinched the overall Division 1 flag for 2014 after winning the
Division 1 flag in 2013, Division 2 in 2012 and Division 3 in 2011.
The pennant is determined by the overall success of a club’s
three pennant teams – Open, Junior and Masters (seniors).
“It has certainly been some wonderful years for the Nudgee
GC pennant team. ” Nudgee Golf Club’s general manager Aaron Muirhead said. “The
pennant team here at Nudgee are an exceptional group and the team camaraderie
has emerged through their results. It was a pleasure to witness this team
spirit that the players, caddies and supporters displayed at all of the events,
which certainly made the win, and previous wins, even more significant.”
The final round was a home game against Pacific GC with the
winner taking the Division One Pennant for the year. With everything on
the line the team performed brilliantly, and comprehensively accounted for
Pacific 16.5 to 4.5. “Back to back winners in Division One are rare, and
it shows how much talent there is in the men's membership at the moment.”
Nudgee Golf Club Captain Lindsay Rattray said. “ In fact our run of pennants
now stretches to four in a row. A big thanks to the many members who give up
their Sunday mornings to come out and caddie for the team. Finally, a
huge congratulations to all the men that took part in the teams performance
over the 2014 Pennant season, well done lads.”
Dr Robert Sang, Nudgee GC President said “It is fantastic to
see the team to have back to back wins in division one. Four pennant wins in a
row is a major golfing feat and says a lot about the golfing talents at Nudgee
Club. We really are a golf club for golfers.”

Meanwhile, Indooroopilly Golf Club really cleaned up in
Division 2 which moves them into Division 1 in 2015 while Wynnum and Mcleod
golf clubs were successful in divisions 3 and 4 respectively
